Qin Manet is a lapsed Keeper Miqo'te who studied at Sharlayan before they Sharlayabandoned her. Not wanting to drop her bookish attitude or research, the Miqo'te, um, didn't.She is definitely compensating for something: fancy words, fancy clothes, fancy way of life. With even a fancy drinking habit to match.Once a wife, now a widow. Her father-in-law had left Qin in charge of the family business (along with a guilt complex, heaping debt, and other Count de Caveats).Cleverly and cleaverly, the debts fell away, as Qin took the family name and titles, along with its rather burdensome paperwork. Well, it is said: in life, there is nothing so certain as death and taxes.

"Unsavory," is a nice thing an Ishgardian might say about the Manet Family. "Useful, for the wrong means," is another. A generational crime family, once known for its hand in fencing (and not the sort with foils), Count de Manet was a hit at parties: the political ones and the rowdy ones.The markets the Manets prefer aren't Jeweled with Crozier, but the kind one has to ask about, and Qin keeps them flush with goods to sell: magitek and otherwise. She makes them all herself (alongside her trusted Roegadyn adviser), and trades them from black market to black market from Ul'dah to Othard, from Limsa to Garlemald, and beyond. Violence is so last summer, it's time to profit.That has to be legal, yes? Not at all, friend. Not at all. Qin is an organized woman and enjoys her crime that way.A Family woman through and through, Qin fell into this work by falling in love. But the heiress is now late, as in dead. Whoops, now Qin now walks the widow's walk. Choices were made.Terrible ones.
